Renovation, Part 1 - Day 6: Painting

Martin and his team were here all day yesterday.  They spent most of the morning taping things off, painting the baseboards (out in the driveway!), and caulking the angle between the walls and the ceiling.

They covered all the new tile with this pinkish paper and taped it down.

I was impressed, but Allistiar wasn't.

I didn't go out much during the time they were here,
because it was smelly and I could've gotten paint on me.
So I snapped these photos after they left (around 7 pm!)

The tilers also finished the dining room area.
The left an exit way by the front door.

Martin cut holes into the drywall on that wall above to the right (where the water damage is) to check on the insulation and inside of the wall.
There's no damage in there - yay!
He fixed the drywall again.

He also fixed a big crack we had in the ceiling of the hallway near the front door
above where there's a crack in the foundation.

WE ARE GOING TO HAVE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HOUSE
IN THE HISTORY OF HOUSES
WHEN THIS IS ALL DONE!

After Greg got home,
we watched "Columbo" and hung out in the bedroom.
No area is untouched by the renovation, since everywhere they're not working stuff has more stuff in it than usual, but it's defintely nice to have part of the house that's not being worked on right now!

So far today, nothing has happened . . .
they said they'd be here around 7, but they aren't here and it's noon.

I know the company was dealing with some other emergency things (a flood, for example),
but I hope they didn't just decide to leave the rest of our stuff undone . . .

Happy Friday!
